Three motorcyclists were killed after a bus ran over them on the Dhaka-Khulna Highway in Muksudpur upazila of Gopalganj on Friday night.
The deceased were identified as Al Amin Thakur, 22, Foysal Sardar, 30, and Liakat Sheikh, 32.
The motorbike was crossing the road at the College intersection area when a Dhaka-bound Golden Line Paribahan bus ran them over, said Muksudpur police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Shaker Md Jubayer.
The motorcycle and its riders got stuck to the forepart of the bus that kept moving for about a kilometre until it caught fire, starting from the motorbike, Shaker continued.
None of the bus passengers were injured in the incident. Among the deceased, Al Amin was killed on the spot. Foysal died at Muksudpur Upazila Health Complex and Liakat died on the way to a hospital in Faridpur, OC Shaker added.
