Two persons including a woman were killed and 25 others injured in a head-on collision between a Cox’s Bazar bound microbus and a vehicle of Mahindra transport at Teknaf land port area on Cox’s Bazar-Teknaf road at 3-00pm on Sunday.
The female passenger aged about 50 and the male passenger aged about 30 died on the spot. The identities of the deceased could not be known.
Besides, the 25 injured including the drivers of the two transports were admitted to Teknaf hospital. Bodies of the two victims are still in Teknaf hospital. However, Seven of the injured were referred to Cox’s Bazar hospital.
No case was filed and two vehicles are lying at the place of the accident till writing this report.
Another reports adds: An eight year old girl was killed as a speedy passenger bus ran over her in Monsha Chomuhuni area under Patiya upazila on Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Moni Akter, 8, son of Nobi Islam, hailed from Chorkanai village under Patiya upazila.
Police said a speeding BRTC passenger bus ran over Moni and her mother while they were crossing the road at Monsha under Patiya upazila at 12 pm yesterday. Critically injured Moni was rushed to Patiya Health Complex but attending doctors declared her dead.
Police seized the bus but the diver and his assistant managed to escape.
