Two minor girls drowned in the Bangali River in Naldingipara of Sherpur upazila yesterday.
Golam Rabbani, a member of Khamarbari union, said Brishti, 6, daughter of Abdul Alim and Farzana, 7, daughter of Farhad Ali of Khamarbari area- went to the river for taking bath with Bristi’s mother in the afternoon.
At one stage both the children went missing and drowned in the river.
Local people recovered the bodies of the children from the river. A pal of gloom descended the area following the death of the two girls.
UNB from Sirajganj adds: A minor boy drowned in a water body at Shernar village in Belkuchi upazila of the district on Monday evening.
