RU Correspondent :Leaders and activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League of Rajshahi University (RU) unit on Sunday beat up three Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) activists on campus.The injured two JCD activists were identified as Sawon and Sajib Hossain, both are master’s student of finance department of the university while identity of another injured could not be known immediately.Witnesses said, around 1:30pm some five JCD activists were gossiping at the university tukitaki chattar while BCL RU unit organizing secretary Faisal Ahmed Runu and joint secretary Golam Kibria, who were beside them, called JCD men to talk. At one stage of conversation, while JCD men talked loudly, BCL leader Runu started beating them up. Later, BCL leaders handed three of them including sawon and Sajib handed over to law enforcers while two others fled away.While contacted, Abdu Rauf, officer in charge of Motihar thana police told that only Sawon has under their custody and Sajib was released by the university proctor.The legal steps would be taken against Sawon after primary investigation, OC added.Contacted BCL leader Faisal Ahmed Runu said, while we called some JCD men who gathered at tikitaki chattar to talk with them, they misbehaved with us. Later, we handed over them to police after slightly beating up.
