3 injured in arson attacks

Staff Reporter :The 26th day of ongoing blockade programme of BNP-led 20-party alliance passed off amid arson attacks and violence in different parts of the capital on Saturday.At least three persons, including two journalists, received burn injuries in the separate arson incidents. The injured were admitted to the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH).The miscreants also torched at least three buses in the city, police said. A policeman was injured as miscreants hurled a petrol bomb aiming at New Market Police Station around 8:15pm, said Asaduzzaman, Sub-Inspector of the police station. On the other hand, at least two journalists of a private television channel, Maasranga Television, were injured as miscreants hurled cocktails at Teachers students Centre (TSC) at Dhaka University premises on around &:55pm.The injured are Staff Reporter of the TV channel Zahed Selim and cameraperson Moazzem. A bus of Victor Paribaban was torched at Tatibazar around 3:30pm. No one, however, was injured in the incident. Another bus of Komol Parbahan was also torched near English Road area around 10:30am. Meanwhile, miscreants torched a passenger bus in city’s New Market area around 7:30pm. No one, however, was injured in the incident.
