A court on Wednesday awarded life imprisonment to 3 individuals, including a woman, in the farmer killing case at Alamdanga.
Md Rabiul Islam, Judge of the District and Sessions Judge Court, pronounced the verdict in the afternoon.
Those who got life term are : Ikhtiar Ali, 27, son of Amsar Ali of Purbopara under Gorchapra village of Alamdanga upazila, Mahima Khatun, 23, wife of Rajib Ali, of the same
area, and Juwel Hossain, 25, son of late Billal Hossain of Panch Komlapur Majherpara.
According to the case document, on April 18, 2018, farmer Babur Ali was returning home from a tea stall. At this time, the miscreants abducted him and hacked him to death taking him to a hut inside village Gorchapra.
The family members after seeing that Babur was delaying to return home, informed police. The next day, police recovered his body from the hut. On the same day, his wife Momtaj Khatun filed a murder case as plaintiff with Alamdanga police station.
