Some 134 police officials have been promoted to the levels of additional deputy inspector general and additional superintendent of police in a massive promotion as was done earlier in the civil administration where 873 officials were promoted to deputy, joint and additional secretaries.
Of them, 21 Superintendents of Police (SPs) have been promoted to Additional Deputy Inspector Generals while 113 senior assistant SPs to additional SPs. Ministry of Home Affairs issued a circular in this regard on Tuesday.
In this procedure, Police Headquarters DIG Binoy Krishna Bala has been made the chief of Criminal Investment Department (CID) and Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) DIG Mili Biswas and DIG Mahbubur Rahman have been transferred to Police Headquarters.
Besides, Magura district SP Zihadul Kabir has been transferred to Rajbari while Barisal SP AKM Ahsanullah transferred to Magura and DMP Additional Police Commissioner SM Akhtaruzzaman also transferred to Barisal.
