A mobile court of Chittagong Port Authority (CPA), in a drive on both the sides of the Karnaphuli River, on Wednesday evicted two illegal Dockyards and a Shipyard in Khalurghat bridge area.
The CPA mobile court in another drive on same day fined six engine boats with Tk. 1.8 lakh to run the boats without licence.
CPA Executive Magistrate Mohammad Abul Hashem along with police and CPA Ansar members conducted the drive and evicted two illegal Dockyards and a Shipyard on the both sides of the Khalurghat bridge and fined Taka two lakh.
The mobile court also sealed off two illegal Dockyards and a Shipyard for their illegal setting up on the land of CPA.
The CPA Executive Magistrate said the establishments were evicted under the Port Authorities Lands and Buildings (Recovery of Possession) Ordinance, 1962.
