The superintendent of Jessore Juvenile Correctional Centre and its two inmates were injured in police firing inside the centre on Wednesday.
Following the firing, all eight policemen deployed at the centre at Pulerhat in the suburb of the district town, were withdrawn in the evening.
Centre sources said Habilder Mostafa called a juvenile, Rabbi, bastard on Wednesday morning when his father was taking him home after his bail.
Outraged, Rabbi’s fellow inmates attacked the policemen when the law enforcers fired 13 rounds of bullets, leaving centre super Mohammad Shahabuddin and two juveniles-Raihan and Rubel-injured.
After the incident, additional director of the Department of Social Services Mohammad Shahjahan and additional police super of Jessore KM Ariful Haque visited the correctional centre in the evening.
