3 held with huge arms in Ctg

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) and Coast Guard arrested three people along with 23 firearms from Haramia and Senerhat areas in Sandwip upazila on Monday.
The recovered firearms include an AK-22, nine guns, two revolvers, four pipe guns, five local guns and two pistols.
The arrestees were identified as Shahed Nur, Manik and Nirob of the Haramia area.
Tipped off, a joint team of RAB and Coast Guard conducted a drive at the house of Shahed at Haramia at 6am and arrested the trio, said Maksudul Alam, assistant director of RAB-7 media wing.
Later, the joint team conducted another raid on Senerhat, he said adding that the firearms were recovered from the two places.
Commanding officer of RAB-7 Lt Col Mista Uddin said they conducted the drive at the house of Shahed on information that some accused in a case filed in connection with the double murder over a cattle market that left two people dead on September 21 were staying there.
