A court here on Wednesday sentenced three young men to life terms in prison for killing a woman who obstructed their attempt to rape her daughter-in-law at Ichhapur village in Jashore district Sadar upazila in 2013.
Judge MA Rab of Khulna Speedy Trial Tribunal also fined each TK 10,000, and by default, two more years to suffer in jail. The court acquitted another accused from the allegation.
The convicts are Md Saidul Islam, 26, son of Monser Ali, Md Jahid, 26, son of Abdur Razzak and Md Kuddus son of Shahid Mollah of the same village.
According to the prosecution, on the night of February 23, 2013, the three culprits forcibly entered Liton’s house in the area and tried to violate his newly wed wife while Liton was out of the house.
