A court here on Thursday convicted three people and sentenced them to life imprisonment for possessing drugs.
The convicts are – Shahadat Hossain, son of Abul Hossain; Joynal Abedin, son of Farhad Khandaker of Chuadanga district; and Mizanur Rahman, son of Abdur Rab of Kaliganj upazila.
They were also fined Tk 10,000 each.
According to the prosecution, police arrested them with 100 bottles of phensedyl from Langalbadh Bazar in Shailakupa on April 5, 2013.
Later a case was filed against them with Shoilakupa Police Station.
After examining records and witnesses, Jhenaidah Additional District and Sessions Judge Golam Azam handed down the verdict.
