The National Productivity Organisation (NPO) will be set up at its regional offices in Chattogram, Khulna and Rajshahi cities for developing productivity at the grassroots level.
The information was revealed at the 14th meeting of the National Productivity Executive Committee at the Industries Ministry in the city, said a press release.
Secretary in Charge of the Industries Ministry M Abdul Halim presided over the meeting while Additional Secretary of the ministry M Dabirul Islam and Managing Director of the SME Foundation Mijanur Rahman, among others, were present.
The meeting also informed that a proposal on manpower in this regard has already sent to the Public Administration Ministry.
Abdul Halim said Bangladesh will have to increase productivity through ensuring quality of products to cope with the global competitive markets.
