Three-day conference of Deputy Commissioners (DCs), an annual meeting of the heads of district administrations with the policymakers of the government, will begin on July 24 in the capital.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the conference at Shapla Hall of the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) at 10 am.
The conference is held every year to discuss the ways of the execution of different policies, guidelines, priorities of the government as well as the proposal of field-level officials for smooth and effective functioning of the government and maintaining law and order.
Additional Secretary of Cabinet Division Faruque Ahmed told BSS that ministers, prime minister’s advisors, state ministers, deputy ministers and secretaries of 52 ministries will take part in the conference featuring 22 general and 18 working sessions.
The DCs will submit their proposals to the government with a view to getting necessary guidelines from the government, he said.
They will take part in an open discussion with the prime minister after the inaugural session, Ahmed said.
From the conference, the DCs may seek guidelines from the government policymakers to overcome the legal, administrative, financial and other challenges which they are facing at the field level in discharging duties, Ahmed added.
The Divisional Commissioners will also take part in the conference. The conference will end on July 26.
