A three-day long book and technology innovative fair began at Islamic University in Kushtia Friday amid festive mood and much enthusiasm, on the occasion of Language Martyrs’ Day and International Mother Language Day.
IU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr M Harun-Ur-Rashid Askari accompanied by its Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr M Shaninoor Rahman and Treasurer Prof Dr M Selim Toha inaugurated the fair adjacent to the university’s Faculty Building as the chief guest.
Later, a discussion programme on international mother language day was held at Bangla Monch addressed by Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr M Harun-Ur-Rashid Askari as the chief guest.
Chaired by IU student advisor Prof Dr M Saidur Rahamn, the function was addressed, among others, by IU pro vice-chancellor Prof Dr M Shahinoor Rahman, Treasurer Prof M Selim Toha as the special guests.
IU Acting Registrar SM Abdul Latif delivered the welcome speech while IU Social Faculty dean Prof Dr Nasim Banu and IU syndicate member Prof Dr Mahbubar Rahman were present.
