Alleged vote rigging in CCC polls: 3 councilors file case in Election Tribunal

Three councilor aspirants in the recently held Chittagong City Corporation election filed separate suit before the Election Tribunal, Chittagong and First Joint District Judge court on Monday last for alleged vote rigging and occupying the polling centres by the ruling party cadres .
 In the suit, they also demanded fresh polling in that respective wards. The plaintiffs of the suit are councilor aspirant of Gosaildanga Ward Jahangir Alam, Enayet bazaar ward councilor aspirant MA Malek and reserved women councilor Ferdous Ara Munni of No.1 Ward. Lawyer of the plaintiff Advocate Purnendu Bikas chowdhury filed the suit before the tribunal. Tribunal accepts the petition in cognizance.
 The plaintiff counsel in the main written statement said Election of 28 April last was not a election at all and the non-voters occupied the centre and casted false votes. The video footage of vote casting and still pictures were also submitted alongwith the petition, sources said .
