3 cops hurt in bomb attacks by Shibirmen

Three policemen have been injured in a bomb-attack by Islami Chhatra Shibir activists in Chapainawabganj when the law-enforcers went to arrest a murder accused.
Police say, they have arrested Shibir activist ‘Jibon’ 18, from Shibtala in the town on Friday morning.
Jibon, shot in the right leg, has been admitted to a local hospital, Chapainawabganj Sadar Model Station OC Golam Mortuza said.
The injured policemen are Sub-Inspector ‘Monir’ and constables ‘Rasheduzzaman’, and ‘Babul’.
Mortuza said they raided the area acting on a tip-off when Shibir activists hurled
several improvised bombs at police, leaving three injured. Jibon was injured in the police firing while trying to flee.
Unidentified assailants hacked to death Shibir activist and Chapainawabganj City College’s first-year student Ariful Islam on Thursday morning. His family filed a case, accusing local Jamaat and Shibir leaders.
OC Mortuza said they had arrested two other accused in the case – Sohel Rana, 22, and his brother Jewel, 20.
