At least three students of the city’s Dhanmondi Ideal College went missing when they were taking bath together in Dhaleshwari River of Savar on Saturday morning.
The incident happened around 11:30am in Savar’s Banktown area. Missing victims are identified as Rajon, 17, Akash,17 and Mehedi,18.
Two teams of Fire Service and Civil Defence have started operation in order to search and rescue the victims from the spot.
Local sources said that a group of HSC first year students of Dhanmondi Ideal College in Dhaka went to a friend’s house in Savar, on the outskirts of the capital. Of them, 11 went for a bath in the nearby river when three of them went missing, because the river had strong current at that time.
Liton Ahmed, Station Officer of Savar Fire Service and Civil Defence, told the media that, on information, a team of firefighters and divers from Savar went to the spot to conduct a search and rescue operation.
