It is totally unbelievable that adults are willingly sacrifice their lives only for love of their parents. But such a incident took place in London tower fire.
When elderly and disable parents failed to climb down stairs, their adult one daughter and two sons decided to die with their parents together in that fire. Those three siblings and their parents were Bangladeshi origin British.
The three siblings were Hamid, 29, Hanif, 26, and their sister Husna Begum, 22. Three adult siblings reportedly perished in the deadly London apartment fire last June 15, only for unearth love after staying behind so their parents wouldn’t have to die alone, according to the Times UK.Husna Begum, 22, and her brothers, Hanif, 26, and Hamid, 29, are among the 79 victims presumed dead after a blaze ripped through Grenfell Tower in West London on June 14.
Their mother, Rabeya Begum, who is said to be in her 60s, and their 82-year-old father, Kamru Miah, have also been presumed dead.
The five British-Bangladeshi family members lived together on the 17th floor of the now-destroyed building.
The siblings allegedly spoke to relatives on the phone after the fire broke out at around 12:54 a.m. to explain their decision to stay in the building.
“Their dad could barely walk anyway,” their cousin, Samir Ahmad, 18, told the Times UK. “What were they going to do? Abandon him?”
Ahmad said he believes that “until around 1:45 a.m. they could have left their parents,” but that they chose to stay behind and die as a family instead.
They were last heard at 3:00 a.m. on Wednesday.
“My auntie spoke to Hanif,” Ahmad added. “He was very calm.”
“He said his time had come, and not to mourn for them, but be happy for them because they would be in a better place.”
Abdur Rahim, another cousin of the three siblings, told the BBC Bangla that Husna was supposed to be getting married on July 29.
