Three Bangladeshis were reportedly denied boarding on a Qatar Airways flight at the Heathrow Airport around 8:15 am (London time) on Thursday.
Qatar Airways did not give a specific reason why the Bangladeshis were turned away. However, the matter is being investigated by the Bangladesh embassy, sources said. Bangladesh High Commissioner in London Saida Muna Tasneem told media, “We have asked Qatar Airways for an explanation and are awaiting details from them.”
She said the Bangladesh High Commission in London has never issued a health certificate. What we have done under the direction of the concerned authorities of Bangladesh – we have attested health declaration of Bangladeshi citizens or British-Bangladeshi dual citizen passengers. It has to be showed to the immigration authorities after going to Bangladesh. We are still attesting this declaration.
