Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) members arrested three alleged killers of private university student Rabbi from Sathia of Pabna on Thursday afternoon.
The arrestees are Md Biplab Mollah, 28, Md Raja Pramanik, 38, and Md Shahanur Sheikh, 22.
Golam Rabbi, 22, a 2nd year student of BBA of Institute of Science and Technology at Dhanmondi, was kidnapped from near his Kalyanpur residence under Mirpur police station on November 19 noon.
Later, the kidnappers demanded Tk 10 lakh as ransom to victim’s father Anwar Hossain from Rabbi’s mobile phone the following day.
Meanwhile, Sathia police recovered the body of
Rabbi from Noilar Beel area in Sathia upazila on November 25.
A case was filed with Sathia police station in this connection.
RAB-4 started investigation into the incident after getting a complaint from the victim’s father.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of the elite force unit conducted a raid on Kashinathpur Bazar in Sathia around 3pm on Thursday and arrested Biplab Mollah and Raja Pramanik.
Following information given by the two arrestees, another team of RAB-4 arrested Shahanur Sheikh from the same district.
