Barishal Metropolitan Police on Sunday arrested three alleged killers of slaughtered truck driver Ujjal Haoladar at under-construction Barishal divisional truck terminal in conflict over sharing looted goods.
Holding a press briefing at the temporary office of Barishal Metropolitan Police in Alekanda area of the city on Sunday noon BMP commissioner Shahabuddin Khan in presence of the high officials of BMP revealed this fact. The arrested three accused were Sohag Haoladar, Robiul Islam and Md. Ramzan, three associate of the victim.
Among them Sohag was arrested from Alekanda and stolen pickup of the victim from Dhan Gobeshana Road of the city. Robiul and Ramzan from Sadarghat area of Dhaka on Saturday night.
Police also recovered the knife used in killing, blood stained cloths of the victim, quilt, spade, shovel used for concealing the slaughtered dead body of the victim under the sand. The police commissioner during the briefing said both victim and the killers were friends and associated with stealing different construction items used for under construction divisional truck terminal.
They engaged in feud over sharing money earned by selling the looted items and planned to kill Ujjal Haoladar as he demanded lion share for using his pickup vehicle for stealing and selling looted goods.
Under that plan Ujjal was called from home and he went out telling to repair his vehicle on Thursday morning, but did not return home at night. His mobile phone also found switched-off.
The shoes of the victim found near the truck terminal on Friday noon and after following the recovered shoes, dead body concealed beneath the sand of the under construction Abdur Rob Serniabad divisional truck terminal on Friday afternoon.
Parvin Aktar, mother of the victim, lodged a murder case with Barishal Airport Police Station of the city on Friday night without mentioning any name of accuse.
Then police started investigation about the associates of the victims as suspected killers, said Mahbub Ul Alam, officer in charge of the police station.
