3 abducted men rescued in C’nawabganj

Three people who were kidnapped from Dhaka on Tuesday rescued from a residential hotel in the district town on Wednesday afternoon.
The victims were identified as Mizan Uddin, 38, son of Safiqullah of Khajurtali village in sadar upazila of Laxmpur district, Abu Bakar Siddque, 39, son of Gausul Azam in Patnitala upazila of Naogaon, and Jahangir Alam Liton, 38, son of Badiul Alam of Dhamuirhat Police Station in Naogaon district.
Police also arrested three alleged kidnappers-Monirul Islam Bakul, 35, Ashraf Hossain Pakhi, 22, and Shahidul Islam Rana, 38, hailing from different areas of Chapainawabganj-from the spot.
Assistant police super Wahiduzzaman of Chapainawabganj said kidnappers picked up the three people-Mizan, Abu Bakar and Liton from Narda area of the capital on Tuesday.
They then took the boy to a residential hotel in the district town and demanded Tk 2.5 lakh as ransom from the victims’ families for release of each of them.
On information, police conducted a drive in the area on Wednesday afternoon and rescued the three victims.
The police team also arrested the three alleged kidnappers by taking strategy of giving the money demanded as ransom through bKash (Mobile money transfer service).
