Country’s prestigious professional golf tournament, the 2nd Basundhara Bangladesh Open (Golf) ‘ 2016, approved by Asian Tour, will be held on February 10-13 at the Kurmitola Golf Course in the capital.
Basundhara Group is sponsoring the Asian highly-rated 3,00,000-US dollars prize money professional golf tournament for the 2nd time under supervision of Bangladesh Golf Federation.
Some 231 leading golfers from Asia, Europe, America and Africa are expected to participate in the heavy weight golf tournament of Asia.
A total 30 golfers –25 professional and promising and five amateur –of Bangladesh, including celebrated golfer Siddikur Rahman, Dulal, Jamal, Majed, Milan and Sujit ,will participate in the main draw of the four-day competition.
Member of the Tournament’s Organizing Committee Brigadier General Salim Akhter (Retd), who is also the chairman of the media committee, disclosed these at a press conference at the Kurmitola Golf Club (KGC) on Wednesday.
Joint Secretary General of Bangladesh Golf Federation (BGF) Brigadier General M Obaidul Haque (Retd), President of the Golf Club Tournament Committee Brigadier General Abidur Reza Khan (Retd), General Manager of KGC Lt Col MA Bari (Retd), Head of Brand of Basundhara Group Selimullah Selim and Senior Executive Saiful Islam Rubel were also present.
