Police filed two cases against BNP leder and ctivists with Ramna and Shahbagh police stations in the capital on Saturday night on charge of obstruction of police work, attack on police.
Police said that they arrested 29 BNP men in two cases and send them to a Dhaka court. Later, the court granted two days remanded each.
Shahbagh Police’s OC Mamun-or Rashid said that they detained 19 people and later released three.
Meanwhile, Ramna Police’s OC Monirul Islam said that they arrested 13 people allege involvement with the attack on police.

Sahidul Osman Masum wants remand of 13 accused in Ramna police case for seven days.
Later, the lawyers applied for bail on behalf of the accused.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Sadbir Yasir Ahsan Chowdhury ordered two days remand each after hearing both the parties on Sunday.
Earlier, the BNP called a rally in front of the National Press Club on Saturday to protesting the government decision to revoke its founder late President Ziaur Rahman’s gallantry title ‘Bir Uttam’.
Though the rally was supposed to start at 10am, the leaders and activists started coming to the rally site long ago. A large number of police were deployed to avoid any untoward situation surrounding the rally.
Later, clash broke out at the rally after police charge batons to disperse the BNP supporter and leader. Many leaders and activists as well as police several members were injured in the chase. Later, the police filed case as a plaintiff.
