Twenty nine BNP activists of Chiittagong chapter including its vice President MA Aziz, Md.Miah Bola,patenga thana BNP President Nurul absar,BNP thana President Jahidul Islam were granted bail on Monday.
Justice Enayetur Rahim and Justice Shahidul Karim bench of High court pronounced the verdict of bail ,Barrister Mahbubuddin Khokan defended the accused party sources said.
These BNP activists were detained from different areas of the port city on February 8 last following the announcement of verdict against BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia in a graft case.
Jamaat leader arrested : Satkania police arrested a fugitive “leader of the killing mission squad” of Jamaat-e-Islami, also the prime accused in Satkania Jubo league leader Jahirul Alam murder case, in Deodighi of Chittagong on Monday night.
After interrogating the arrestee, Chhagir Ahmed, 49, of Bakshirkhil of Satkania, police recovered a local light gun and two cartridges from under a pile of bricks near Deodighi graveyard in Satkania upazila, said Rafikul Hossain, officer-in-charge of Satkania Police Station.
Chhagir has three more criminal cases filed against him with the police station.
