Police, in overnight drives, detained 283 persons including 11 activists of Jamaat-e-Islami and its student wing Islami Chhatra Shibir from different areas of the district.
The law enforcers also recovered 2 LGs, five rounds of bullets and 421 litres wine during the drives.
District’s additional superintendent of police (ASP) (special branch) Muhammad Naimul Hasan told b that of the detainees, 56 persons were accused in regular cases while 216 others had arrest-warrants.
Chittagogn district ASP (south) Habibur Rahman said that lawpersons arrested a Jamaat activist and 10 Shibir men from Lohagara anf Chandanaish Upazilas in separate drives.
They all were accused in different cases related to sabotage, added Habibur.
