A total of 28,182 examinees were absent from Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSC) and its equivalent examinations in two days.
As many as 48 students were expelled on charge of committing irregularities during the examinations.
The Dhaka Education Board had highest number of absentee students while, Technical Education Board was on the top in terms of expelled students, the Education Ministry sources said.
Bangla 1st paper examination was held under the eight general education boards and Technical Education Board while Quran Majid examination was held under Madrasa Education Board.
A total of 1,336,517 students out of 13,51,505 students were present on the first day of the HSC and its equivalent examinations held on Monday.
Of them, 27 students were expelled for their unfairness in the examination halls.
In Dhaka Board, 3040 students were absent and one student was expelled, in Rajshahi Board, 1,446 absent and none expelled, in Kumilla Board, 851 absent and one expelled, in Jashore Board 1,156 absent and one expelled, in Chhattagram Board, 983 absent and one expelled, in Sylhet Board, 719 absent, in Barishal Board 803 absent, and in Dinajpur Board 1,162 absent.
In Mardrasa Board 2,614 students were absent and one student was expelled, while in Technical Board a total of 2,214 students were absent and 22 students were expelled on the first day.
Meanwhile, a total of 13,194 students were absent and 21 students were expelled in 10 education boards on the 2nd day of the HSC and its equivalent examination on Tuesday.
Of them, 3,098 students were absent and eight students were expelled in Dhaka Board, 1,521 absent and one expelled in Rajshahi Board, 689 absent and one expelled in Kumilla Board, 1,212 absent and one expelled in Jashore Board, 1,032 absent and one expelled in Chattogram Board, 745 absent in Sylhet Board, 810 absent and two expelled in Barishal Board, 1,298 absent and one expelled in Dinajpur board.
As many as 2,799 students were absent and six students were expelled in Madrasa Board.
