28 rescued while being trafficked to India

Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in a drive rescued twenty-eight people, including fourteen women and six children, while they were being trafficked to India through Putkhali border in Sharsha upazila of Jessore district on Sunday night.
They hail from Narail and Bagerhat district.
Tipped off that some Bangladeshis were being sent to India through the border point, a team of BGB conducted a drive in the area at the night and rescued the 28 people, said Subedar Shofi Uddin Hawlader, camp commander of Putkhali camp.
However, the human traffickers managed to flee.
A case was filed in this connection.
