28 more Covid-19 deaths in last 24 hours

Bangladesh reported highest 28 deaths from coronavirus in the last 24 hours till Saturday, taking the death toll in the country to 610.
Besides, 1,764 more coronavirus cases were registered during the period to raise the total to 44,608.
This is the joint highest daily death toll in Bangladesh since the first death was reported on March 18. Earlier, 28 deaths were reported on May 24.
Prof Dr Nasima Sultana, additional director general of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), came up with the disclosure in the daily online health bulletin in the afternoon.
She said 360 more patients recovered from COVID-19 disease in the last 24 hours, taking the number of people making recovery to 9,375.
Prof Nasima said 9,987 samples were tested in 50 labs across the country during the period. With this, a total of 297,054 samples have so far been tested in the country.
She said the infection rate is 17.66 percent given the samples tested in the last 24 hours.
On Friday, Bangladesh reported 23 deaths from coronavirus and 2,523 cases.
Meanwhile, global coronavirus cases continued to spike across the world as over 1.25 lakh cases were reported in the last 24 hours till Saturday morning.
Confirmed coronavirus cases around the world have jumped to 6,026,418, including 125,511 during the period.
Besides, the death toll from the virus has reached 366,421, according to Worldometer.
Of the currently infected 3,003,853 patients, 2,950,118 are in mild condition while 53,735 are in serious or critical condition.
So far, 2,656,144 people have made recovery from the disease in different countries.
