Sylhet Bureau :
As per the government’s latest nationalisation programme, Sylhet Modan Mohan College and 27 other ones have been nationalised today ( 12th August). The notification signed by Deputy Secretary Nasima Khanom of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Directorate of The Ministry of Education confirmed the nationalisation of those colleges. According to the commitment of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, altogether 271 colleges in the country have been nationalised.
In Sylhet Division 10 Colleges of Sylhet, 5 of Habigonj, 5 of Moulvibazar and 8 of Sunamgonj districts have been nationalised. The newly nationalized Colleges of Sylhet are- Sylhet Modan Mohan College, Gowainghat College, Balagonj Degree College, Fenchugonj Degree College, Dhaka Dakshmin Degree College, Kanaighat Degree College, Biswanath Degree College, South Surma Degree College , Gowalabazar Degree College, Emran Ahmed Girls College in Gowainghat.
In Moulvibazar:- Borlekha Degree College, Kulaura Degree College, Rajnagar Degree College, Komolgonj College , Taiyubunessa Khanom Academy Degree College.
In Habigonj :- Azmirigonj Degree College, Shahjalal College, Jonab Ali Degree College, Nabigonj Degree College , Alim Sobhan Chowdhury College .
In Sunamgonj:- Digendra Bormon Degree College, Chhatak Degree College, Derai Degree College, Dhorompasha Degree College, Dourabazar Degree College, Jagannathpur Degree College, Shalla Degree College and Jamalgonj Degree College.
