SCBA election: 2609 votes caste on first day

Polling is going on in the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA)’s annual election.
2609 votes were casted in the first day of two-day voting, SCBA Superintendent Nimesh Chandra Das said.
He also said, vote casting will be finished at 5.00 pm on Thursday. 6,152 lawyers

have been listed to exercise their voting rights.
The lawyers of the Supreme Court Bar Association will elect a 14-member executive committee for the term of 2018-2019 sessions.
Awami League leader and former SCBA President Advocate Yusuf Hossain Humayun, BNP leader and incumbent SCBA President Advocate Zainul Abedin, Advocate Shah Md Khasruzzaman and Advocate Eunus Ali Akond are contesting for the post of the President of the bar.
Advocate Sheikh Md Morshed, incumbent SCBA Secretary and former BNP lawmaker Barrister A M Mahbub Uddin Khokon and Advocate Alhaj Abul Bashar are contesting for the post of Secretary, Nimesh Chandra added.
