The members of the law enforcing agencies, including the police and the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in a 10-day drive in and around the Tongi Biswa Ijtema ground, arrested 255 pickpockets, thieves and members of fraudulence gang, police said.
Among the detainees, there are 20 women, said Mohammad Feroz Talukdar, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Tongi Model Police Station.
Police rescued three missing children from Tongi Railway Station area. They also recovered 10 mobile phone sets from their possessions, he added. Separate cases were filed in those connections.
The arrested men were sent to the jail following different court orders.
