Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in a day-long drive on Tuesday filed 2530 cases on charges of violation of traffic rules and irregularities, said an official release. .
Traffic division in their simultaneous drives on the city streets filed the cases against traffic rule violators and realised Taka 20.77 lakh, said an official release of DMP.
Some 72 cases including 23 video cases were lodged against drivers of different modes of vehicles on charges of talking over mobile phone while they were driving.
A total of 247 cases were lodged for driving on the wrong sides, 85 other cases for using hydraulic horn, five for using hotter and beckon light and 15 others for using tinted glass, it also said.
It also dumped 36 vehicles and wrecked 459 others.
