A court here on Wednesday placed 25 leaders and activists of BNP on two-day remand each in a case lodged over their clash with police on Tuesday at capital’s Chandrima Udyan and vandalizing vehicles.
Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Tofazzal Hossain passed the order as police produced the accused before the court and pleaded to place them on five-day remand each in the case lodged with capital’s Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station.
Three cases were filed by police and Metro Rail Authorities over the incidents.
Leaders and activists of BNP locked in a battle with the police as the law enforcers tried to stop them from entering the udyan area, where members of the newly-formed convening committees of BNP’s Dhaka city north and south units went to place wreaths at the grave of party founder Ziaur Rahman.
