A total of 2,45,200 doses of Oxford-AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine are scheduled to arrive in Dhaka from Japan on Saturday under the Covax scheme.
A Cathay Pacific Airways flight will carry the consignment which may land at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the afternoon.
Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen will receive the vaccine doses at the airport.
Japan will send over 2.9 million doses of
AstraZeneca vaccine to Bangladesh in phases under the Covax scheme.
Its Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi said that 15 countries in the region would be provided with 11 million doses of the vaccine under the facility.
The DGHS sources said, the vaccine will inoculate to those who are waiting for long for the second dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine.
