23 rivers marked rise, 58 fall

Water levels in 23 river stations monitored by Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre (FFWC) have marked rise and 58 stations recorded fall.
Among the 85 monitored water level stations, water level at one river station is flowing above its danger level and water levels at four monitored river stations have remained steady, a bulletin issued by FFWC said on Thursday.
The Brahmaputra and the Padma river systems are in rising trend while the Ganges, the Jamuna and the Surma-Kushiyara river systems are in falling trend.
The Brahmaputra river system may rise in next 48 hours while the Jamuna and the Padma remain steady in next 48 hours.
On the other hand, the Ganges and the Surma-Kushiyara river systems are likely to fall in next 48 hours.
Significant rainfall was recorded in some stations in different districts during the last 24-hour ending at 6am yesterday.
A total of 91mm rainfall was recorded at Sunamganj, 58 mm at Panchagarh, 66 mm at Lorergrah and 45 mm at Jamalpur.
