23 BD seafarers join ultra large container vessel in Japan

23 Bangladeshi seafarers join an Ultra Large Container vessel MV Meishan Bridge in Japan on 6th June 2018 at Imabari Shipbuilding Shipyard Japan.
It is one of the largest new building Container Ship “MV Meishan Bridge”, capacity 14,000-TUES was taken over by Bangladeshi seafarers from Haque & Sons Ltd, says a media release.
This is the first time in history of Bangladesh where Ultra Large Container series vessel of 14,000 was taken over by 23 seafarers including officers and ratings under the excellent leadership of Capt. Omar Kabir and Chief Engineer Md Ali Hassan from Bangladesh.
Tokyo-based Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, Ltd. (“K” Line) took delivery of the 14,000-TEU at Imabari Shipbuilding Company’s Hiroshima Shipyard in Japan. “K” Line has a total of five ULCSs scheduled for delivery this year.
These vessels will be operated under Ocean Network Express Pte. Ltd. (ONE), a joint venture of Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, Ltd. (“K” Line), Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd (“MOL”), and Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha (“NYK”). Haque & Sons wishes all the success of K-LINE and the seafarers sailing on board.
Capt. Saydur Rahman Executive Director and Shichida San of HSL Tokyo attended the delivery ceremony along with official delegates from Kline Group.
