Bangladesh reported 22 more deaths from coronavirus in the past 24 hours, taking the death toll in the country to 672.
Besides, the confirmed coronavirus cases have jumped to 49,534 with the detection of 2,381 during the period.
Prof Dr Nasima Sultana, additional director general of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), came up with the disclosure in the daily online health bulletin in the afternoon.
Among the deceased, 19 were male and three female, she said adding that 11 were from Dhaka, eight from Chattogram, two from Sylhet and the other from Barishal division. Of them, one was between 21-30, eight between 41-50, four within 51-60, seven between 61-70 and the other two 71-80 years old, Dr Nasima also said.
She said highest 816 more patients recovered from COVID-19 disease in the last 24 hours, taking the number of people making recovery to 10,597 and the recovery rate to 21.39 percent.
A total of 449 people were put under isolation in the last 24 hours, she added.
Prof Nasima said 11,439 samples were tested in 52 labs across the country during the period. With this, a total of 320,969 samples have so far been tested in the country.
On Sunday, Bangladesh reported 40 deaths from coronavirus and 2,545 cases.
Meanwhile, the global death toll from coronavirus has reached 373,960 as of Monday morning.
Besides, it has so far infected 6,266,888 people around the world, according to Worldometer. Of the currently infected 3,045,400 patients, 2,991,993 are in mild condition while 53,407 are in serious or critical condition.
