22 DU students get Awlad Hossain Foundation Scholarship

Twenty-two meritorious students from different academic years of the Department of Islamic History & Culture of Dhaka University (DU) have been awarded “Hazi Awlad Hossain Foundation Scholarship” for their outstanding academic performances.
Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique distributed the scholarships among the students as the chief guest at a function at RC Majumder Arts auditorium of the university on Monday.
Chairman of the Department of Islamic History & Culture Prof Md. Mahfuzul Islam presided over the function while Dean of the Faculty of Arts Prof Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman and Director of Hazi Awlad Hossain Foundation Hazi Tofazzal Hossain Mollah addressed it as special guests. Assistant Professor Md Mahmudur Rahman conducted the programme.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof Arefin urged the brilliant students to extend support and cooperation to their family members as well as the society.
He said students have to equip themselves with non-communal and humanitarian values to make a better society. He called upon the students to demolish all obstacles for achieving their goals.
The VC thanked Hazi Awlad Hossain Foundation for providing scholarships to meritorious DU students.
The recipients of scholarships are Mesbah Uddin, Israfil Hossain, Suraiya Ahmmed Sharifa, Md Rubel Mia, Al Mamun, Md Saddam Hossain, Md Emran Hossain, Faruque Mia, Md Abu Jubair Khan, Md Al Amin, Kazi Arif, Progga Laboni, Abdullah Al Mamun, Md Rais Uddin, Md Khadimul Bashar, Sabina Begum, Md Hasinur Jaman, Alivia, Md Fakhrul Islam, Jahangir Alam, Md Nore Alam Ziku and Jesmin Aktar Rumana.
