21,730 hectors brought under Aus cultivation

The cultivation of transplanted Aus paddy in all the four upazilas of the district is now going on satisfactorily.
According to Chuadanga district agriculture extension department office source during this season a total of 21,730 hectors of land has been earmarked for transplanted Aus paddy cultivation in all the four upazilas of the district like Sadar, Alamdanga, Damurhuda and Jibannagar upazila.
Of the total land 7,000 hectors are being under cultivation in Sadar upazila, 3,700 hectors in Alamdanga upazila, 6,830 hectors in Damurhuda upazila and 4,200 hectors in Jibannagar upazila.
In the meantime the cultivation works of over 50 percent of the total land has been completed and the cultivation works of the rest land would be completed by the first week of the next month, the source said.
The production target of Aus paddy has been fixed at 87,000 tonnes.
The agriculture extension department has ensured to supply of seeds, fertilizer, insecticides and bank loans among the farmers, the source added.
