21,500 blankets distributed among cold-hit people

Narsingdi District Administration has distributed 20,000 pieces of blankets last couple of days to mitigate their sufferings.
Deputy Commissioner of Narsingdi Abu Hena Morshed Zaman on Wednesday night distributed 20,000 pieces of blankets among cold- hit distressed people of Goradia, Kawra para, Narsingdi railway station, Kabul shah Majar, Allahhu Sattar and Belanagar area of the town.
The district administration has taken decision to distribute about 20,000 blankets among the cold hit poor people of 71 unions and six upazilas of the district this winter season through the union parishad and upazila parishad chairmen.
The distribution has already begins to help the poor overcome to suffering caused by the on going cold wave.
BSS from Panchagarh reports: About 1,000 blankets were distributed among the primary students of Tetulia upazila in the district yesterday.
Darjipara Shishu Sargo organization distributed the blankets among the students. The organization also distributed education stipend among 14 meritorious students.
Additional deputy commissioner (general) M Mahamudul Alam distributed the blankets at a simple function on Tetulia Government Primary School premises as the chief guest.
Additional superintendent of police Din Mohammad, Tetulia upazila nirbahi officer Sheikh M Belayet Hossein were present, among others.
BSS from Lalmonirhat adds: About 500 blankets were distributed among the cold-hit people at Hatibandha Upazila of the district on Friday.
The blankets were donated by Ramna Bazaar Rotary Club of Ranpur (RCC).
A blankets distribution ceremony was organised on Votemari Srutidhar Dr. Chandana High School premises in the afternoon. High officials of RCC and elites of the town were present on the occasion.
Dinajpur Correspondent adds: Rotaract Club of Dhaka University (RCDU), an organisation run by Dhaka University students, on Friday distributed blankets and other warm clothes among the distressed people in different areas in Dinajpur district.
Thousands of deprived people received the warm clothes and blankets, says a press release of the RCDU issued on Sunday from DU campus.
According to the press release, Md. Abdur Rahman, Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) of Dinajpur Sadar, attended a distribution programme and distributed warm clothes among the winter victims. Rtn. Dalowar Hossain, former RCDU President and local representatives were also present.
Club President Jahirul Islam, Vice President ?Mahfuz_ Sharkar, Club Secretary Maria Tahsin, Joint Secretary and ?Program Chairman, Effat Jahan Sharia, International Service Director Azmira Disha, Sgt. At Arms Sharmin Rimu, Sgt. At Arms Rashedul Haque, Professional Service Director Mehadi Ratul, Club Member Mohinur Rahman Durjoy, Abdur Rahman Srabon, K.S. Shariful Islam Sourav were on the team.
