The Global Peace and Humanitarian Awards 2021″ is scheduled for October 21, 2021, instead of September 21, 2021, due to some internal reasons, including the complexity of the PCR lab at the airport, said a press release.
The Bangladesh Digital Social Innovation Forum and the Digital Social Innovation Forum are going to host the “Global Peace and Humanitarian Awards 2021” for the first time to reward those whose exemplary efforts have significantly improved the lives of others and contributed consistently to the culture of peace and humanitarian service.
The nomination application process officially ended on 15 August at 12 midnight Bangladesh time. To receive this award, nominations were collected from 31 countries in a total of 8 categories. The categories are- 1. Interfaith Leadership, II. Leadership in Strengthening Families, 3. Outstanding Service Award, 4. Good Governance Award, 5. Innovative Scholarship for Peace, 6. Other Global Peace Awards.
A total of 1,065 people applied. A total of 47 of them, including 20 Bangladeshis, have been nominated through a total of 150 nominations, which have been published on BDSIF and DSIF’s own pages and websites and in various national and international newspapers.
The International Day of Peace was scheduled to be held on September 21 at the Crown Plaza in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, but was postponed due to the complexity of the PCR lab at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport. As the Dubai government is not issuing visas to anyone in the country except for PCR tests at airports and 20 out of 47 people at the “Global Peace and Humanitarian Awards 2021” are Bangladeshis, the award program is scheduled for October 21 on humanitarian grounds, said Ali Akbar asha, chairman of the organizing committee.
