It was a busy year for singer Shahana Quazi. Aside from presenting popular songs to her listeners she gained a noticeable popularity within a very short time. The singer released her solo music album titled Bhalobashar Kotha last year from Toronto. The videos of some the songs from the album were released on her social media sites and among those, Anushuchona, Pooray Pooray Khati and Bhalobashar Kotha, gained a lot of appreciation and popularity. The song titled Anushuchona was aired on several popular national TV channels in Bangladesh.
In this regards, Shahana Quazi says, “Aside from working on my own original songs this year I had the opportunity to perform live in two large concerts in Toronto’s prestigious venue, Hershey Centre, sharing the stage with some of Bollywood’s biggest stars like Atif Aslam, Sunidhi Chauhan and Ayushmann Khurrana. Also, few months ago, popular Bollywood music icon Mika Singh met with me and expressed his interests to work on a duet song with me. Besides Bollywood concerts, I had the opportunity to perform live in several live shows one of which includes the Victory Day celebration event organised by the Bangladesh Association of Toronto which was well received by the audience. All together it was a memorable and successful year for me.”
In the New Year, Shahana Quazi is preparing quite a few new songs for her audience. Currently she is working on her second solo studio album. Several popular Bangladeshi lyricists and music composers are working on these new songs under the direction of Canadian producer Shahed Quazi. All of them will be recorded, mixed and mastered at one of North America’s top recording studios.
This year the singer got her Facebook page verified which also remarkably crossed the one million followers making her the first Bangladeshi female singer as well as the first South Asian Canadian singer to have one million followers on Facebook.
Currently she has about eleven lakhs followers on Facebook from about 5o countries worldwide.
Aside from Facebook her popularity is fast growing on other social media sites like her own YouTube channel and Instagram. Shahana Quazi wishes all of her fans a great new year ahead.
