Staff Reporter Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested two members of an organised hacking group on charge of hacking over 20,000 Facebook accounts, including dozen of celebrities accounts in last three years. They were arrested from the city’s Mohakhali area on Saturday morning. The detained men are Mir Masud Rana, 35, from Pabna and Mohammad Sourav, 18, hailed from Sylhet. Commander of RAB-2 Colonel Ashique Billah said this in a press briefing at RAB Media Centre in the city’s Karwan Bazar on Saturday afternoon. He said, “The hackers did not demand money from celebrities. They collected money from people of outside media. They were hacking celebrities facebook accounts just for supremacy. Some more members of the hacker group were also identified,” the RAB official said. One of the hackers earned money around Tk two lakh every month, while some took credit of hacking, the RAB official said. “The gang members hacked more than 20,000 accounts in last three years,” said the CO quoting the duo. Legal action has been taken against the arrested men, the RAB official said.
