Drains and footpaths at Sagarika road in city became freed from the illegal possession .A mobile court of Chittagong city corporation led by city Magistrate Sanjida Sarmin evicted about 200 makeshift shops and floating vendors from the drains and footpaths on Tuesday.
Executive Magistrate told the media that about 200 makeshift shops and vendors so occupied the drains and footpaths from Sagarika stadium gate to cattle market point were evicted for easy traffic and pedestrian movement . During the drive, a number of shops beside the evicted shops were convicted with cash penalty for displaying the merchandise in footpaths. Local councilor, Pahartalithana police assisted the mobile court campaign, a CCC sources said.
