20 rivers marked rise, 56 fall

Water levels in 20 river stations monitored by Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre (FFWC) have marked rise and 56 stations recorded fall.
Among the 85 monitored water level stations, nine river stations have been registered steady while 22 stations have been recorded flowing above danger level, a bulletin issued by FFWC said here on Monday. In the next 72-hour, the overall flood situation in places of North, Central, North-western and north-eastern part; Kurigram, Gaibandha, Jamalpur, Bogra, Serajganj, Sylhet, Sunamganj, Netrokona, Mankganj, Rajbari, Munshiganj and Sharatpur districts may likely to improve.
The Dharla at Kurigram, Ghagot at Gaibandha, Brahmaputra at Chilmari, the Jamuna at Bahadurabad, Sariakandi and Serajganj, the Gur at Singra, Atrai at Baghabari, Dhaleswari at Elasin, Lakhya at Lakhpur, Kaliganga at Taraghat, the Padma at Goalundo, Bhagyakul, Kobadak at Jhikargacha, Surma at Kanaighat, Sylhet, Sunamganj, Kushiyara at Amalshid, Sheola, Oldsurma at Derai, Kangsha at Jariajanjail and the Titas at Brahmanbaria are flowing above their respective danger levels by 44cm, 60cm,40cm, 65cm, 78cm, 78cm,51cm, 160cm, 90cm, 27cm, 17cm, 41cm, 17cm, 38cm, 66cm, 7cm, 18cm, 44cm, 44cm,51cm,54cm and 60cm.
Significant rainfall was recorded in some stations in different districts during the past 24-hour ending at 9am yesterday.
