Including journalist, at least 20 activists of Ganajagaran Mancha were injured on Friday afternoon when police charged batons on them to thwart a rally protesting the Thursday’s attack on the activists, in the capital’s Shahbagh area. The incident took place at 4.30 pm at the area and the identification of the injured could not be known immediately. Police also detained five activists of the Mancha, in this connection. The detained were identified as Rashed, Shohag, Joy, Farid Ahmed and Dhiman. Earlier on Thursday, at least five activists of Ganajagaran Mancha had been injured in an attack by Chhatra League activists, the student wing of ruling Awami League, at the same venue. Following the attack, the activists of the Mancah wanted to bring out a rally in the area today.
