Two young men have been hacked to death by unknown miscreants at Tongi in Gazipur district.
Police recovered the bodies from the area on Sunday morning.
The deceased have been identified as Sharif Hossain, 30, son of Ala Uddin, and Zumman Miah, 32, son of Harun, residents of Ershad Nagar, Tongi.
Quoting family members of the deceased, Jahirul Islam, Sub-Inspector (SI) of Tongi Police Station, said “Sharif and Zumman were called out of their houses by some unknown persons on Saturday night. The locals spotted their bodies lying in the area on Sunday morning and informed police.
“The throat-slit bore have many injury marks as well. We are investigating the murder to trace the killers,” the SI said.
They might have been killed over previous enmity, the Police official said.
The bodies were handed over to the family members after post mortem, he said.
“We are trying to arrest the killers,” the SI said.
