Two women were murdered in separate incidents in city’s Jatrabari and Hazaribagh area on Monday night.
The ill-fated women have been identified as Hamida Begum, 35, wife of Nasir Uddin of Hazaribagh area, while Poly Akhter, 27, a garment worker of Jatrabari area.
In Hazaribagh, Nasir Uddin slaughtered his wife Hamida Begum at Balurmath area, said Sentu Das, Sub-Inspector of
Police Outpost at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH)
“Being furious over family feud, Nasir slaughtered his wife,” he said. In Jatrabari, unidentified miscreants slaughtered Poly Akhter at her house at 276/A Dholaipar.
“The miscreants tied her hands and legs at first. And later they slaughtered her,” said Ziaur Rahman, Officer-in-Charge, Jatrabari Police Station.
Being informed police recovered Poly Akhter’s body from her residence. She left behind a ten-year old daughter.
The bodies of the victims were sent to DMCH morgue for autopsy. However, none was arrested in this connection.
